Fridcorp May Purchase South Yarra Tresor Site For $13 Million

IT COULD be back to the drawing board for a prominent South Yarra apartment proposal abutting Melbourne High School, and which was opposed by billionaire entrepreneur Lindsay Fox, and a swag of undisclosed establishment families, before finally winning approval in 2009. Nightclub manager and property developer Jerry Pilarinos is understood to have sold control of the Tresor project, on the north-west corner of Chapel Street and Alexandra Avenue, to boutique builder Fridcorp, in an off-market deal worth some $13 million. Any sale would end months of speculation the distinctive, curved apartment project might be abandoned, and a legal case ensued by financiers and investors. [...]

Mark Viduka to Sell Williamstown Property, Melbourne

SOCCER legend Mark Viduka is selling an investment property near the Williamstown waterfront. The 35-year old recently retired athlete – also known as Big Dukes and V-Bomber – can expect between $1.5 – $1.6 million for 79 Nelson Place, a tri-level, four bedroom townhouse (pictured, right), which is being auctioned next month. Viduka, who is married and has three sons, recently retired from the sport, though there is growing speculation of a career return with the media or as a coach. In February, he was awarded the prestigious Alex Tobin medal by the Australian players’ union, the PFA. Amongst his other achievements, was captaining national football team the Socceroos, and Australia, at the 2006 World Cup in Germany. [...]

Lexus Buys Former News Limited and Cottees Facility, Blackburn

LEXUS of Blackburn – whose radio advertisements wake tens of thousands of Victorians ahead of 3AW’s popular Rumour File – has itself settled speculation it has made a major property play. The prestige car dealership is understood to have paid about $12 million for News Limited’s former Leader Newspaper facility at 160 Whitehorse Road, near its existing facility at 146 Whitehorse Road. Lexus will develop an iconic, new car facility on the site at the corner of Railway Road and near the Blackburn train station – set to highlight the brand’s environmental credentials. [...]
